  • This database is made available for the general public to access the collection of Japanese magazines (about 6,500 titles) owned by the Theatre Museum.
  • The magazines cover a wide range of genres including noh, kabuki, bunraku and other traditional performing arts; shimpa, shingeki, modern plays, dance, music, school plays, movies and other dramatic arts; and other related genres.

  • To see an actual magazine(s) in the collection, please apply at the Reading Room counter on the first floor of the Theatre Museum (No. 5 Building). The staff will bring the magazine(s) from the museum's library. Please note that you will be required to present a document proving your identity at the time of application.
